Phil Mickelson kills Tigers.

I saw him do it on the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links, during the final round of the AT&T Pro-Am.

Lefty fired a brilliant 64 in the final round, while playing with Tiger. For the record: Mr. Woods carded a 75....11 strokes higher than Mickelson's final round number. It was an amazing display of golf by the 41 year old, and for Woods, the world awaits his official return to the game.

The media hype surrounding Woods continues to be more impressive than Tiger's actual game....especially in the final round of tournaments. The former World #1 continues to struggle on Sundays and he is starting to putt like every 5-handicapper in America.

Golf is a cruel game....and what Mickelson did to Woods on Sunday at Pebble Beach was a reminder that El Tigre has a long ways to go.

Anybody that thought Tiger would cash-in on Jack Nicklaus' 18 major championships is now doing a quick re-do. I do expect Tiger to win again, but there are some chinks in the armor that are very concerning.

In the past, Woods would intimidate and dominate with his length and amazing short game. Now, he hits it like anybody else....and his work with the putter is lukewarm, at best. Until he starts making everything inside 5 feet again, he will find the rest of the golf world looking to pounce.

Despite Tiger's failures, let's not forget that Mickelson was the star of the show on Sunday. I'm not a Lefty fan, but I can certainly appreciate an awesome performance....and that's exactly what Mickelson provided for the golf world this past weekend.

Thanks to Austin Rivers' flair for the dramatic, the ACC basketball race is wide-open coming down the stretch.

I didn't like Duke's chances at all last week, heading into their showdown game with North Carolina. However, the Blue Devils' 14 3-point field goals provided just enough to rally past the Heels in the Dean Dome.

It was a shocking loss for UNC. The Heels had complete control of the 2nd half, and with 150 seconds to go, a double-digit lead and a roaring home crowd was not enough for Roy's boys.

It was an incredible Duke comeback, and equally huge gag by North Carolina.

The ending brought a stunned silence to the Smith Center and an epic dog-pile celebration by the Duke players on the court. Both coaches had to fight back the emotion during the post-game press conference.

The Duke win, coupled with Florida State's unexplainable loss at Boston College made things very tight at the top of the ACC standings.

Duke, FSU and UNC head into this week tied for first, and there are others that are lurking immediately behind.

I'm not sure if any of these teams are good enough to get to New Orleans....I thought the Heels could do it, but their lack of intensity and perimeter defense is a real problem....and I'm not sure there is a solution.

The Tourney is going to be wide-open and totally unpredictable....and I can't wait to watch it unfold.

Man, the Bobcats really suck.

Charlotte's NBA team heads into the week on a team record 14-game losing streak and a sparkling 3-24 record.

The team is on pace to match the worst winning percentage in a single season in NBA history.

This past weekend, the club made NBA history by becoming the first NBA team to lose back-to-back home games by 25 or more points. It is unwatchable basketball, and there's no one else to blame for the product than the man that put the team together.

The spin by the local media is that the club is "young".

That's complete BS....and a terrible adjective to describe what is taking place at Time Warner Cable.

This is pro basketball....not college....not high school. You can use the "young" moniker at those levels, but in the pro game you can either play or you can't.

The Bobcats' recent performances make that an easy question to answer.

I actually feel for Coach Paul Silas....but the good news is that he's getting paid to watch it.

I have now circled March 12th on the calendar.....that is the day for the Bobcats-Hornets game in New Orleans. As of this post, the Bobcats are 3-24 and the Hornets are 4-23....if only Bob Johnson and George Shinn could make special guest appearances.

I had to laugh when I saw the team come out with their ABA-throwback Carolina Cougar jerseys this past weekend. I have a feeling that a bunch of those former ABA guys would have their way with the current cast in Charlotte.

Can it get any worse?

I'm afraid we're going to find out.

What in the world was Forbes Magazine thinking when they unveiled their "Top 10 Most Disliked Athletes"?

It was the usual cast of suspects....Michael Vick #1, Tiger Woods #2, etc....

Until you got to #5 on the Forbes list.....drumroll, please......Kris Humphries.

Really? The ex-husband of reality star Kim Kardashian.

Just exactly how does Humphries finish ahead of LeBron James....because he dumped, or she dumped the New Jersey Nets player?

That list lost all credibility with his inclusion....but I guess if you don't stir the pot, nobody knows that you exist.

Just ask Kim. She has mastered it.....not bad, for someone without any talent.
