He Loves Him Some Him

Terrell Owens is up to his old tricks.

While attending a charity fundraiser in Atlanta last week, the Philadelphia Eagles egomaniac was at it again with reporters about his current football status.

Owens was quoted as saying, "It doesn't matter what they are saying about me whether it be in Philly, in San Francisco, and all over the world. They believe what they want to believe. In my heart, I know I'm doing the right thing. I don't have to play football. I don't have to play for the Eagles. I don't care what my teammates say."

T.O. is a real class act. There is no question that he is a terrific talent. His play in the Super Bowl was spectacular, but his treatment of the franchise and that of star QB Donovan McNabb in the press was juvenile.

Owens later was quoted as saying, "I would play for anybody. I'll play for anybody that allows me to go out there and do what I do. I just want to be paid what I deserve. If I'm one of the top players in the game, pay me like I'm one of the top players. What's fair is fair. That's not being selfish. That's not being greedy. Right is right and wrong is wrong."

Yeah, T.O., it is a real shame that the Eagles haven't allowed you to go out and "do what you do." What the Eagles did is pay you 49 million bucks to be a wide receiver in the NFL. The guy doesn't have a clue. Evidently the Eagles must have held Owens at gunpoint to sign his 7-year contract last season.

To make matters worse, Owens said that he isn't looking for the limelight either. T.O. said, "I'm not a person who goes out and tries to get a lot of publicity. I don't use this as a publicity stunt to sidetrack things that are going on with me in the football world."

Are you kidding me?

I guess when T.O. stood on the star at midfield in Dallas after scoring a touchdown for the 49'ers...that had nothing to do with publicity or promoting T.O.?

I guess the Monday Night Football skit this past season had nothing to do with getting some airtime, either?

Or how about the "Sharpie in the sock" autograph on Monday Night Football years ago?

Or the stupid end zone dances in Philly?

You're right, Terrell...you are a real team player.

You're also the biggest jackass in the NFL.
